Google Checkout's Nasty Email

As a small company (just me, low number of customers), I need an invoicing system and a payment gateway.  I picked probably one of the best invoicing systems around, Freshbooks, but I wasn’t so lucky with my payment gateway (Google Checkout).  This morning when I checked my email, I was greeted by a nasty note from the Google Checkout team.  I’ve posted it below for your consumption.  Rest assured, I have promptly replied to this email with an explination, disabled Google Checkout on my Freshbooks account (which I have replaced with PayPal), and sent them a reply (even more below)

Hello Alexander,

During a recent review, we found that your Google Checkout Public Business URL, http://www.geekery4rent.com, doesn’t appear to match the website you’re using for Checkout transactions.

In order to process transactions using Google Checkout, you must specify the website where your Google Checkout buttons are located as the Public Business URL in your account. Your account will be reviewed after 5 business days and if the requested edits have not been made, your account will be suspended.

To update your Public Business website URL:

1. Sign in to Google Checkout at https://checkout.google.com/sell

2. Click the ‘Settings’ tab.

3. Edit your URL beside ‘Public business website’ under the ‘Public business information’ header.

4. Click ‘Save profile.’

Sincerely,

Vidhyaa

The Google Checkout Team

To which I replied:

This is quite frustrating. I do not use Google Checkout to sell products online, I use it to process invoices from Freshbooks. You won’t ever be able to see the buttons I use, because I haven’t sent you an invoice and I seriously doubt I’ll be invoicing Google for anything.

Fortunately, Freshbooks gives me the option to remove Google Checkout with just the click of a button. As long as my current balance goes to my checking account, I will simply stop using Google Checkout and everyone can go on about their business. I haven’t the time to be dealing with senseless garbage like this.
