Loss of Trust
I have been using Disgby for Instant Messaging for quite a while (since private beta), and it has been a great product. Unfortunately, their revenue model is something I cannot support, and am proceeding to un-install Digsby from all of my computers and recommending to everyone that they do the same.
You see, Disgby has been a little less than forthcoming about using my computer for various research projects. Some I don’t mind, for example, performing mathematical calculations for research. But, using my PC to crawl the internet is NOT something that I can allow. Sure, at first it sounds harmless, but think about it. What if the crawler bot visits an illegal website — without your knowledge that it is even running — and in turn leads to legal complications for you. Sure, it’s not a likely situation for those of us at home, but what if you’re in a public location and the bot triggers a content filter?
Also, I was not informed of the change in the Terms of Service to include the new system, even though Digsby has a built-in alerting system that they use frequently. And, the way to turn off the option, until lately, was from the “Help > Support Digsby” option. If you asked me three days ago what I thought that menu option would do, I would’ve said “I don’t know, probably takes you to a donation page.”
I was already quite disappointed in the bundling of crapware in the installer, but this definitely takes the cake. When I started with Digsby, they indicated that they would be releasing a “Pro” version, which I would definitely have paid for, but they chose the slimmest and most deceitful method of sponsoring their development and I cannot continue to use their software.
My apologies go out to anyone who I recommended install Digsby. I promise to find and evaluate a replacement product for you all.

So I was toying around and took this quiz on ColorQuiz.com, and thought I’d share the results with you.. Because, I thought it was fun :-)

Alex’s Stress Sources
“Current problems are seen as dangerous and threatening. He is angry a the thought he will have to continually put off his own goals for the time being, leaving him feeling powerless to change things. He feels used, overwhelmed, and exhausted at the demands placed on him.”
Alex’s Restrained Characteristics
Current events leave him feeling forced into compromise in order to avoid being cut off from affection or future cooperation.
Giving more than he is getting back and feels misunderstood and unappreciated. Feels he is being forced into compromising and even his close relationships leave him feeling emotional distant.
Applies tough standards to his potential partner and demands an unrealistic perfection in his sex life.

Alex’s Desired Objective
Seeks to be known for something he has accomplished and uses his social abilities to win people over. Emotional and sensitive and romantic.
Alex’s Actual Problem
“Feeling a lack of energy, he does not wish to be involved in further activity or give in to demands. He is feeling powerless causing him stress, agitation, and irritation, all which he tries to escape by refusing to participate altogether. He tries to escape into a fantasy world where things go his way and his desires are easier to reach.”
